Prior to her arrival at Forest Meadow, Mrs. Irby spent the past five years teaching both at the high school and middle school level. She has taken multiple groups to UIL and has consistently received First-Division Ratings. She is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University and is currently pursuing her Masters in Music Education from Southern Methodist University. Some professional affiliations include Tau Beta Sigma, Pi Kappa Lambda, and a member of Texas Educators Association. Her primary instrument is clarinet, and she will be teaching all the beginning woodwind classes as well as the Honors Band, Jazz Band, and Co-teaching the Concert Band.
Some of Mrs. Irby’s favorite moments in band come from her time in middle school, high school, and college. She has performed in New York in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and in Carnegie Hall, and has medaled at Bands of America Super Regionals, Grand Nationals, and the Texas State Marching Contest. Mrs. Irby currently resides in Euless, TX with her husband who is also a band director. They have an Australian Shepard named Rosie, and a black cat named Salem. In her spare time she enjoys musical theatre, painting, and scary movies. |

Devon Jobson has spent the past two years as the Director of Bands at Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis, IN. While at LN, Mr. Jobson led the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Pep Band, assisted with the Show Band and Pit Orchestra, and was the Co-Director for the Marching Pride of Lawrence Township. Mr. Jobson also assisted with the newly created 6th Grade Beginner Band Program in Lawrence Township. While at LN, his groups earned gold ratings at ISSMA Group Organizational Assessment, and the Marching Pride of Lawrence Township was an ISSMA Class A State Finalist, a BOA Regional Finalist, and a BOA Super Regional Finalist.
Before working in Indianapolis, Mr. Jobson taught at South Oldham Middle School in Crestwood, KY where he taught 6th Grade Beginners, the 7th Grade Band, and the 8th Grade Band. Prior to his time in Crestwood, he earned his Bachelor’s in Music Education from the University of Kentucky. While at UK, Mr. Jobson was a member of the Wind Ensemble, the Jazz Ensemble, and the Symphony Orchestra. In the summer of 2019, he also marched baritone with the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps. Mr. Jobson grew up in Radcliff, KY where he attended North Hardin High School. During his time at North Hardin, the marching band marched in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, was a consistent Kentucky 5A State Finalist, a BOA Super Regional Finalist, and a BOA Grand National Semi-Finalist. He was also principal trombone in the North Hardin High School Wind Symphony, performing at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in 2015. |
